I always wanted to be an artist growing up. I felt I was different and confident enough that I was born to be an artist of some kind. Art is really important to me and I love finding new different artists. I get a rush when I see something I really like or learn about a new art form. I can’t believe I haven’t thought about writing about this before but here are some artists that I love and some that I have recently found. I hope you enjoy.
Charmaine Olivia is one of my favorite artists. That being said I don’t like all of her work but I absolutely love her silhouettes. I am a big fan of cameos and these silhouettes are beautiful. They are different than most I have seen and have some sass to them.
Lori Earley is a little gothic with her images. I really just like the faces and eyes of her women. I don’t think her style is entirely original but that being said the eyes in her images are insane. I feel like they capture the entire message she is trying to convey. The rest of the image is just an added bonus.
I recently found Marco Mazzoni after going through one of my favorite magazines High Fructose. I love his work. These images are done in colored pencils. I love it. I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing but the style reminds me of Silence of the Lambs. Either way I really like his style, colors and imagination.
Gregor Giada’s sculptures are crazy! They are a little creepy but I think they are so imaginative. This particular sculpture is painted wood and cement. His sculptures are amazing. I kind of think of Pompeii when I see this particular piece.
