I recently purchased from Jamberry because lately trying to get my nails done has been impossible. I am so busy I don’t have time for it. Plus with all of the cool nail trends and styles out there I was getting bored of the plain polish I have been doing. I don’t have time to sit at a salon as of late and with the holidays coming up you can’t be seen with icky nails so Jamberry seemed like an excellent alternative. I had to have the Mint Green Chevron which seemed perfect for any holiday occasion and because I love them I couldn’t resist the Poised Peacock.  The best part is they stay on for about 2 weeks.  No chipping or breaking! I can finally walk around with out looking like I work on a farm.

To introduce you to Jamberry is Allison and here is her story.   My name is Allison and about 6 months ago I began my Jamberry journey. Jamberry is a heat activated nail wrap that last on your fingers for up to 2 weeks and on your toes for up to 6!!! It is an amazing product and I love it so much I decided to share my love for it and sell it.  Being a part of Jamberry has changed my life. I can help provide more for my family and I have met so many amazing people. Please contact me if you are interested in joining my team or hosting your own Facebook party!!!

Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara

There is an event going on now on Facebook where you can meet Jana our Younique Presenter and our other amazing representatives! Join us for Black Friday Event and shop in comfort with out crowds, parking or having to vary heavy bags! Click here to join!

Have you heard of or ever tried Younique? Well I have and I love it! The products are great, the company store is lovely and who doesn’t love some pretty cosmetics for the holidays. I have personally tried Youniques Moodstruck Minerals Pigment Powder because I have some serious allergies to make up especially on my eyes and after using them I am in love.

My name is Jana, I am a stay at home wife and mom of 5. Myself and 3 of my daughters were diagnosed with celiac disease July of 2013, this started me on a search for gluten free, natural make up and skin care. I had a friend that was doing an online party for Younique, I purchased the 3D Fiberlash mascara and fell in love. I looked further into their other products and realized this was the line of products I needed. After ordering their skin care and make up, I learned that Younique products are the best quality.
I soon realized I wanted to become a presenter to share these products, and honestly, I have 4 daughters, getting a discount was a great bonus :) Our commission plan is the best I’ve seen, I am paid 4 hours after each sale, a website is provided free from Younique. We have amazing training and customer support. Parties can be done either in homes or online, having 5 children under 12, being able to do online parties that take a few minutes a day is a great benefit to me.

Our number one seller is our 3D Fiberlash mascara, it gives you 300x’s the length of your lashes. Easily washes off, no harm to lashes. It uses green tea fibers to great amazing long eye lashes!

I would love to answer any questions about our amazing products, doing a party for you or giving information about joining my team, this is an amazing company and proud to be apart of it!

Laura Mercier Soufflé Body Cream Sampler Set

Laura Mercier Soufflé Body Cream Sampler Set

Laura Mercier Soufflé Body Cream Sampler Set

For Christmas I indulged a little on some bath and body products I’ve been dying to try and the Laura Mercier Soufflé Body Cream Sampler Set, which is to die for I might add! I am so in love with the scents in this sampler I can’t even handle it! Each scent is basically one of my most favorite. It isn’t easy to get that in a sample set most of the time.    The souffles scents are the perfect winter aromas that will make just about everyone want to lick you if not stand near you to sniff about.  The set includes – Almond Coconut Milk, Ambre Vanillé, Fresh Fig, Crème de Pistache.
Pistachios are one of my fave flavors, colors and scents ever! I think it is because you don’t see it every where, with the exception of the color in recent fashion trends. The scent of the Crème de Pistache is dead on! I really did consider eating it but I can only assume that it would have ended badly for me. One of my kittens did let me know it was deliciously lickable for the simple fact he wouldn’t stop licking me until I am sure the cream was long gone.
I must ad mit that I feel as much happiness about the fig scents, flavor and colors about as much as I do pistachio so please do not think I am being disingeniune. I am not. I sincerly do adore the smell, color and taste of Fresh Fig. I do think that both pistachio and fig are not for everyone but the subtle sweet smell of fig is completely perfect for winter weather. You don’t smell overly sweet or artificial. It is just lovely.
Now let us please discuss Almond Coconut Milk! This is not generally a scent found in nature as a combo but together they make you feel like snuggly heaven with those warm scents mixed. This is a scent combination I haven’t really ever seen in beauty products but food wise I can totes see this happening.  I know you might think coconut is just for summer but a hint of coconut done right evokes the same warmth as a hot buttery rum in a polar vortex. Yummo!
Vanilla may be the typical warming scent we all are familar with but this is deeper. The scent isn’t overwhelming or sickening sweet but it is a simple and delish vanilla that makes you want it in your home as a candle. Being that it is a cream which is already smooth and comforting the  Ambre Vanillé scent is an excellent choice to go with the sampler and as a souffle in general.

Product Description:

Laura Mercier’s Soufflé Body Crème sampler collection features four ultra-rich crèmes designed to instantly nourish the skin with vitamins and protein derivatives in addition to shea butter and macadamia-nut oil for conditioning benefits.

You need to try this set if you are at all interested in well made, not your regular old bring lotion scents. I cannot stop using it or smelling myself which might answer some questions as to why my co-workers have been looking at me strangely as of late.

DIY Simple Salt Scrub

DIY Simple Salt Scrub

DIY Simple Salt Scrub

I really value the art of DIY. It is something that makes me happy especially when it comes to beauty products. Maybe it is just me but I feel like DIY beauty products seem more luxurious when you put the time and effort to make them your own. The more natural the product the better I feel they work and the better I feel about using them. Now that doesn’t mean you can’t mess up the recipe or find one that isn’t so spectacular but with anything DIY it is mainly trial and error. The same can be said for products you purchase in a store as well. At least when you make them yourself you know exactly what goes into your beauty product and how much. That isn’t always the case for store bought items.

Ingredients:
Salt (any kind you have ready to use)
Oilhttp://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=fashijonz-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B0060JNAE8 (any oil you prefer except baby oil)
Essential Oilhttp://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=fashijonz-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B002RSMAD8(Scent of your choice)

Directions:

1. Find a clean jar that is easy to scoop the scrub out of but that won’t leak and can be opened quickly in the shower. I would suggest using a plastic container as this does have oil and you are in the shower so a glass jar may be risky. Plastic has its disadvantages too. A plastic jar will absorb any essential oils you add into the scrub, and that means that you can never use the jar in any other purpose.

2. Choose a salt to use. Almost any kind can work for example; sea salt, Epsom salt, kosher salt, or table salt which is usually the cheapest. Table salt tends to have smaller granules, which means you don’t have to break up big salt clumps. Epsom salt has relaxing properties, while sea salt is often used in bath salts. You can also mix salts to have different textures in your scrub. When you have found a salt or salts that you like, fill about half of your container with it. I used sea salt because I had a huge container of it that I am sure I would never have used.

3. Pick an oil to mix with the salt. Almost any kind will do just not baby oil as it does not absorb into the skin. I had a few different kinds at home so I mixed olive oil with a small amount of coconut oil. Coconut is a favorite scent of mine and I considered not even using essential oils but being that I have plenty of them it couldn’t hurt to use both. Coconut oil is very good for your skin as is olive oil so mixing the both I thought might work very well and smell delish.  I also added some honey to this mixture which is also supposed to be great for your skin but it isn’t a must.

4. Fill the jar with oil until the oil covers the salt. Make sure the oil gets on to all of the salt. I poured some oil in then shook around the salt and continued until the oil looked like it had covered all of the salt in the container.   You can use a utensil such as a spoon or spatula to mix your oil and salt together as well if you like.

5. Add a few drops of essential oils into the mixture.  Some popular scents used in many store bought scrubs are lavender (relaxing), peppermint (energizing), orange, lime/lemon, rose, sandalwood, and vanilla. Or you can try extracts, like vanilla, almond, peppermint and coconut. Stir the salt scrub after you put add the essential oil.

6. Use your salt scrub on particularly dry areas of your body.  The scrub works especially well on hands and feet too.  I use loofah gloves for my body and pumice for my feet.  I put the salt scrub on the pumice and scrub my feet with that which removes the dead skin just as well as any pedi place does. If your skin feels a bit oily, you can wash it off with some soap or body wash, but it is not necessary because usually the skin would absorb all the oil depending on how much you added to your scrub. Your skin should feel soft, moisturized, and exfoliated.  You don’t have to but for added moisture I lotion my body after I dry off to make sure I am fully moisturized.

DIY Body Butter Amazingness

DIY BODY BUTTER AMAZINGNESS

DIY BODY BUTTER AMAZINGNESS

I love DIY! I really love making beauty products at home. Some are not as fun as others but after many a long search for a DIY body butter that didn’t require spending a ton of money or breaking out industrial sized kitchen equipment I think I may have found the right one! I found this recipe on shewearsmanyhats.com. In this heat it is difficult to think about anything else but if you are like me and love to get yourself a nice tan it is important to keep moisturized. You can personalize this recipe to add difference scents or even herbs, fruits or vegetables. You can really fine tune it to your very own skin.  I cannot wait to make this.  I am waiting on some essential oils to come in and this weekend I am going to get right on this!

Ingredients
1½ cups of coconut oil, measured as solid
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons zest of grapefruit or other citrus or essential oil

Instructions
1. Mix all together until combined and smooth.
2. Transfer to a clean container with a cover.

**It is very hot out currently so make sure to keep it in a warm dry place so the butter doesn’t melt. You don’t want to be a slippery greasy mess.
**The mixture can become hard after a few days so make sure to mix it up before using it.

Summer Pedi Necessities

Everyone loves a good mani and pedi especially in the summer! Your feet are out all of the time. There are beaches, pools, parties and sandals galore! The warm weather and constant foot work are tough on feet. Unlike in winter where they are inside shoes and socks most of the time your feet are out and susceptible to heat and dryness much more than any other time of the year which makes the need for a pedi must more important and frequent. Here are some of my favorite products that I have been using for years that make my feet forever smooth and fabulous in between pedi’s.

Tatania Pumice Sponge Block (5 Pieces) is the brand many salons use and you can find at awesome places like Ricky’s NYC. I usually prefer to purchase this very set from Amazon.com because you get 5 blocks for anywhere between $5-$8 depending on seller and if you have Amazon prime you get it in like 2 days! You really can’t beat that. Most pumices are really just crap in my book. These are spectacular, last for a long time and you don’t even need to use scrub if you use them regularly. I actually use this every time I shower. I don’t go crazy but if you keep up with it and do it for a little everyday your feet don’t even have a chance to get dry and cracked.

The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Pumice Foot Scrub 3.4 fl oz is a little pricey at $14 per tub but a little on your pumice really goes a long way. You can either cover your foot in it or put it on your pumice and scrub away the dead skin. You don’t need to glob it on unless your feet really need some work then maybe just the first few times have at it but normally the both combined do an excellent job at exfoliating.

Tweezerman Callus Corn Shaver

Tweezerman Callus Corn Shaver is what I use to make sure any rough spots at the beginning of the summer come right off. Your heels and certain parts of your toes and balls of your feet take the brunt of your weight. They have to be strong and build up resistance to the torture you put them through with the heels you wear. In order for those 8 inchers to not hurt as bad your feet must develop a callus here and there. In the summer those suckers need to be gone! That is what these shavers are for. Don’t freak out they won’t shave your foot off but they are a big help in a way that won’t keep you scrubbing your foot with pumice until the cows come home and leave then come home again.

Bath & Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Butter is a product I have used forever. I used to use The Body Shop but the prices have gone up and with Bath & Body Works having a sale practically every day it just makes more sense to use it. Body Butter is much more nourishing I find to my skin but not the greasy kind. I cannot stand moisturizing only to feel like a freshly greased piece of bacon. While I do not want dry cracked heels I refuse to have every piece of dirt and dust stick to them while I walk around during the day either.  You can use any brand of body butter you prefer and if you like greasy go for it but I find that greasy lotions and butters don’t really moisturize the skin they just lay on top of it.

bliss softening socks I know that $52 seems pricey but these puppies last for so long and are beyond worth it. I use them at minimum once a week. I do it right before I go to bed. I leave them on and generally wake up with them off but if you slather on some luxurious body butter then put these socks on your feet will never have felt better.  I have used brands by Bath and Body Works and Bliss and both are just as good.  if you have a brand you know of or prefer go right ahead.  I tend to be extremely brand loyal to what works unless they get crazy and start jacking up my prices which drives me cray!  I know some people who also use these socks with Vaseline too which works for them but bottom line these gel socks work wonders and are great year round for that fresh from the salon feel.

Fab Summer Beauty Finds

I have been dying to get some new make up for the change of season. I love all of the bright colors and florals I am seeing all over the place. Make up has become more and more of its own accessory. I used to hardly wear any nor was I able to apply it very well but with some practice and fun I have become quite adept at it and I love experimenting. I went on a mini shopping spree and wanted to share with you my fab summer beauty finds.

Givenchy Le Prisme Mono Eyeshadow

Givenchy Le Prisme Mono Eyeshadow

I know this is a contradiction to my above statement regarding my want of bright and floral colors but I just couldn’t resist. The Givenchy Le Prisme Mono Eyeshadow is so super hot and amazingly great for evenings out. The colors can be used year round which makes the fact that the pallet is $29 completely reasonable. You can mix and match these hot dark colors with any shadows you currently have to make the smokey eye of your dreams.

Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush

Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush

Now this blush trio screams Spring and Summer! I love these colors and the shipper of the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush. They can match almost any complexion whether you mix them or use a shade separately. I mean I am generally distracted by pink shimmery things especially when they are in a cute shape but this is a very versatile piece of cosmetics if I do say so myself. Once again you aren’t limited to only using these colors in the warm months but they can totally be paired with some of your brightest outfits and at only $29 it is completely worth it since you can use it every day..

Cinnamon Plumping Lip Oil

Cinnamon Plumping Lip Oil

I really love lip plumper’s and I am not sure why but I also really approve of cinnamon flavored things. The Bite Beauty Cinnamon Lip Plumping Oil is going to be delish and is priced just right $22! Lip plumper’s I feel might have a slightly addictive quality to them….for me anyway. Plumper’s are excellent for the summer. The lips are possibly the only body part that are socially acceptable to be plump. If you aren’t a fan of showing off much of your body in the warm weather make your lips be the focal point of your ensemble with out giving yourself a permanent duck face.

Starry Eyed Liquid Liners

Starry Eyed Liquid Liners

Yes, I am that girl that loves glitter and loves to add it to anything I can. The Starry Eyed Liquid Liner is beyond amazing. The color called Drunk Dial is a must have for everyone on the planet! I am serious. The micro-glitter is used so it won’t irritate your eyes and the fact that it is a liquid liner you can use as much or as little as you want with out having to worry about it smudging. You have 9 sparkly colors to choose from and let’s not forget they are currently on sale at Too Faced for $15.75 right now!

Fall Nail Needs

I have been so into nail polish lately. I have been changing my nail and toe colors almost daily. I keep stumbling upon great new colors all of the time that keep me from being able to keep the same color for long. Generally I am more of a fan of bright colors but recently I have been loving the different warm color options. Here are some of my faves that I have been unable to live without.

SpaRitual In Pink Breast Cancer Collection Nail Lacquer - Loving in Pink

SpaRitual In Pink Breast Cancer Collection Nail Lacquer - Loving in Pink

This is a subtle fall color. I know not everyone is crazy into the super dark colors. I really like this color for multiple reasons besides the fact that it is plain purdy. The color is called Loving in Pink which is more of a purpley color but either way can be matched with any metallic, brown, cream, navy, black and almost any color really.  Nail polish colors that are this versatile are an excellent asset to any collection.

SpaRitual SpaRitual Mini Nail Lacquer - Emerald City

SpaRitual SpaRitual Mini Nail Lacquer - Emerald City

I love the color Emerald City. It is completely a warm color that could be used in summer but because it isn’t that bright turquoise type color I completely feel you can bring this polish right through the fall and if you want to be bold take it to winter! It is a super fab color! Although The Wizard of Oz freaks me out to no end the color emerald and emerald city is still pretty cool.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer - Mermaids Dream

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer - Mermaid's Dream

Mermaids Dream completely makes me think of a mermaid! This color isn’t completely fall but it is so pretty you can probably pass it off as pre-winter.  I love anything chock full of  glitter.  I have nothing bad to say about this color.  Even though it is a lighter choice of color it is beautiful.  You can add it to a warmer color polish or wear it by itself.  You can wear it almost all year long.

Wave Magnetic Polish

Crest White Strips vs. CVS Brand

CVS Dissolving Whitening Strips

CVS Dissolving Whitening Strips

I purchased CVS White Strips a few months ago in order to save some money. I have been using Crest White Strips for years and have been completely satisfied but they are a little pricey. I had always been told that the store brand products are the same as the name brand they just have the store name on it and are cheaper. I have to say that I love CVS. I have been a loyal customer for as long as I can remember. I assumed their brand whitening strips would be just as good as Crests’. I was horribly mistaken. I used the strips the first time and they were fine, no problems at all however I didn’t feel them “working” like I do Crest brand. The strips are a different size and smaller then the Crest ones but that was sort of to be expected, I assumed anyway. The texture is different  for the CVS brand and I thought I was putting paper on my teeth but eventually I got them to stick to my teeth. I generally try to do the whitening once or twice a week but I slacked a little recently. Over this last weekend I decided it was time  to get on the whitening ball.  Needless to say I went through 8 different strips trying to get them to stick to my teeth and eventually gave up. They would not stick to my teeth for anything. I tried wetting the strips, sucking on them, holding them there, dried off my teeth, you name it. I even flipped the strip over thinking maybe i had the wrong side.  The strips either rip the at the top of the strip when opening the package or the entire thing doesn’t come off of the backing or usually the paper backing comes off with it. I was beyond frustrated. It shouldn’t be that difficult to use. I was seriously furious.

Crest Dissolving White Strips

Crest Dissolving White Strips

I have been using Crest White Strips since I first heard of their existence. I have tried plenty of other whitening products and none have ever worked as well. Crest White Strips are quick, easy to use and you can see/feel results. Now paying extra for Crest brand doesn’t seem like a big deal. I have never once actually had an issue with Crest White Strips in all of the years I have been using them. I really was just trying to save a little money.
CVS has made sure I won’t consider buying store brand items for a long time. I got so angry at the CVS strips I was considering not going back to CVS again. I am that kind of shopper. There is no reason I should have had to try 8 different strips and not even 1 worked properly.
Have you used either Crest White Strips or CVS brand strips? Have you had an issue with either? Let me know! Maybe we can help CVS improve their product.
