So maybe I am last on the bus for this one but yeah so Jessica Simpson had a baby and yes in the process she gained 40-50lbs and everyone was going bonkers about it. Why? Is it because most celebrities get nervous if they gain any weight, or because it will be next to impossible to go back to pre-baby anorexia the next day. I am pretty sure her large weight gain does have something to do with the $3million she is getting to be Weight Watchers new spokesperson. I am sure the more she has to lose the longer she gets to be their peddle their wares. She has to make that $3mil worth it after all and perhaps kick start her less than happening career in the process, however there is only 1 Valerie Bertinelli and only 1 Hot In Cleveland (well maybe not it did work for Golden Girls too) . While doing all of that she will be shucking a myriad of baby and mama crap that everyone may flock to (although I don’t think of Jessica Simpson as a trusted mother figure just yet, I still have a hard time getting past her Chicken of the Sea antics).
What I can respect is she did gain the 40lbs and still looked somewhat super fab while doing it. I will say I didn’t applaud all of her outfit choices but that is really the fault of her stylist.
What I really don’t get why everyone was losing their minds. Can’t a pregnant lady gain some weight even in Hollywood or is that not even allowed? I mean all she has to do is go get some lipo, some tucks and pinches, hire a trainer (for presentations sake), go on a diet (aforementioned Weight Watchers), get the doctor to prescribe her some pills, and then BAM back to pre-preggers weight and even better! I don’t see what the big deal is. It’s not like when the rest of us peasants gain weight and have to struggle to lose it. So what is the big deal? Because maybe she let people see her in public while she was “fat”? I don’t know but then we wonder why the younger generations are plagued with eating disoreders, body dysmorphia and ever expanding budgets for superficial items instead of what really matters like maybe education and morals.
