One Day By David Nicholls

One Day

One Day

I finally just saw One Dayyesterday. I had been wanting to see it forever. One Day is right up my alley movie/book wise.  I don’t know why British love stories and dramas always resonate so deeply with me but they without fail always do.  Maybe I was English in a past life?  I do really love tea…maybe I should do some research about this.

I wasn’t actually sure it was a book but I figured it had to be. I am beyond delighted to find out that it is in fact a book. I cannot wait to read it. My list of books to read is becoming incredibly long but I do not care. I will read this book and love it. I get excited when I see a movie that I like only to find out it was originally a book. It usually means the book is going to be even better than the movie. If you haven’t seen One Day you should. I suggest watching before reading to avoid disappointment. I am not saying One Day was at all disappointing as a movie at all but I haven’t read the book yet. Here is a description of the book below:
It’s 1988 and Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morley have only just met. But after only one day together, they cannot stop thinking about one another. Over twenty years, snapshots of that relationship are revealed on the same day—July 15th—of each year. Dex and Em face squabbles and fights, hopes and missed opportunities, laughter and tears. And as the true meaning of this one crucial day is revealed, they must come to grips with the nature of love and life itself.
If you have read or seen One Day let me know what you thought about it. Should I read the book?
