For the holidays I purchased myself a Shark Steam Mop because I have 2 pets that can sometimes be messy and I figured a steam mop would be great for disinfecting and keeping my tile floors clean. I may have some OCD regarding cleanliness due to having some fuzzy babies and because I need to have a neat and orderly home or I cannot concentrate. I fell in to the Swiffer game back in the day when it was new and it was alright. That being said the Swiffer duster is amaze! The 360 one in particular. I cannot tell a lie tho as excited as I was to use it I am super underwhelmed. The mop takes quite a while to get all steamy and as with my Swiffer annoyance corners seem to be difficult to maneuver. I have to first vacuum, then mop, then steam to get the clean I was hoping the shark would give me.
My first attempt I swept the floor first because between my pooch, kitty and myself there was too much shedding going on. After that I waited and waited and waited for my shark to get all sharky. I was super excited to steam the crap out of my tile and I did that but between the dust and “dirt” I didn’t feel like it necessarily cleaned anything. Maybe I misunderstood the point of the steam mop, which could be entirely true, I do tend to think things are going to basically do the work for me once I have made my purchase. I am not much of a pre-purchase product reviewer but I have heard such good things about The Shark Steam Mop I didn’t think I had too much research to do.
Needless to say I do use it but when I have to sweep, mop, then steam I feel like what is the use. My floors are uber clean once I have done all three but that is triple the work I don’t really want to have to do. I don’t hate it but I could have done without it to be honest. I totally give The Shark Steam Mop 2 lumpy thumbs down!
If you have a Shark or any steam mop in general tell me about it. Maybe I am missing something. I would love to get good use out of it and make it work for me. Nothing makes me happier than clean floors!!!
