The River

The River Last night was the premiere of The River. I wasn’t going to watch because the Lost type shows don’t interest me so much but the BF turned it on and it caught me for its Blair Witch-esque film style. Then I started paying attention and what to you know that show is kind of really creepy. Me likey!!! Any show that is willing to attempt to scare the crap outta me is OK in my book. I will say that I did miss the first half of the show so I am a little lost but whatever the creepy doll tree, the mom being stolen by a ghost only to reappear out of an open grave says awesome to me! If they can keep up this creepiness American Horror Story is going to have some major competition. Here is what Wikipedia says the show is about:

Famed explorer Dr. Emmet Cole went looking for magic deep in the uncharted Amazon and never returned. The shocking truth about his disappearance is out there, somewhere, just waiting to be discovered. To the millions of kids who grew up watching his nature show, Dr. Cole was a hero. To his own son, Lincoln, he was more of an enigma. Now, six months after he vanished, Lincoln is finally ready to bury the past when Dr. Cole’s emergency beacon suddenly goes off. At the urging of his mother, Tess Lincoln reluctantly joins her on a search for his father. To fund the rescue, they agree to let Dr. Cole’s cagey ex-producer, Clark, film the mission documentary-style. The mixed crew of old friends and new acquaintances includes the sexy and resourceful Lena, loyal mechanic Emilio and lethal bodyguard Captain Kurt Brynildson.
