I don’t think its just me here thinking the world has gone straight passed mourning and directly into madness when it comes to the death of Whitney Houston. Either people are all up in arms that she did drugs and may have died because of it or people are treating her as if she were some holy icon that has passed and left us all a little less heavenly because of it. Is there anyone out there that agrees with me that we do not have to enter into the country of Crazypants on our way to the state of Ridiculousness, city capitol Nutballz with the governor being the most helmet worthy of them all…yes I mean you Chris Christie (the same man that was up McDonalds butt for offering toys in happy meals! SMH doesn’t even cover it)!!
I am totes a fan of Whitney til this day! The Bobby Brown reality show tugged at my heart strings while hitting my funny bones! Her songs remind me of some super awesome times, she was way hot and a diva, who doesn’t love that??!! Now with that much fame and fortune come problems sometimes. Even none famous people, just regular old douche bags can be addicts and die too, ever seen Intervention? Hullo!
Many talented artists of countless mediums and of even greater fame have been drug addicts, fanatics, mental and so on so why do people feel the need to judge Whitney? Is it because she was a woman or black or because crack is in fact quite wack? Who cares! Some one died! She has a family and friends that will miss her dearly. I really must ask however how Dionne Warwick did not see this coming! Epic fail lady!
I won’t lie that the completely gold hearse was a bit much, the flags at half mast is kind of offensive when we have men and women still fighting for our freedom that we don’t even do that for or even the ones in body bags that are sent home regularly. The televising of the event seems a little more like a money making endeavor than a respectful morning situation. They were interviewing folks on the street last night saying “As long as I get to see it and feel some peace I am ok with it being televised” Ummmm…..ok I am glad all her fans are fine with the familys decision to televise something soo personal and uncomfortable. I don’t want to go to anyones funeral I know let alone watch it on TV.
This brings me to my next point…has anyone seen any real news coverage since this happened? Shouldn’t we leave things like this to the likes of TMZ or MTV (remember that channel that used to play music videos). I can see perhaps having a segment in the entertainment portion of the news but all day every day coverage really? I am disappointed as it is with the range and depth of news we recieve on a regular basis with out a diva dying to interrupt it! Get with it folks!
In the end I say I am sad for her family and friends. I will miss whatever funny crap she may have done in the near future or for that matter maybe the not soo near future. My dreams of her and Bobby reconciling and having another reality show are clearly not going to come to fruition unless we can call those Ghose Hunter guys which isn’t a bad idea….but nonetheless how about the rest of us who aren’t, won’t be and never were in direct contact with Whitney let it go and get over it already. We have no place to judge or criticize. We are all human and we all have issues. We cannot pass judgement on anyone famous or otherwise. I am sure some
